A couple weeks ago, “Little E” and “Little H” decided they wanted to have separate bedrooms. Well actually, “Little E” kicked “Little H” out of their joint abode. Which landed me in yet another project zone. I wanted to share this one in particular.
Upholstered Headboard for “Little E”
It was very simple, inexpensive and only took a couple hours to complete. Total project was under $25.
I started with a piece of insulation board and cut it to size. I wanted to add a little shape to it, so we used a salad plate for the curve.
“Little E” traced around it and I cut the shape out using an razor blade knife.
We flipped the cut out piece over and used it to trace the other side so that they would match.
Voila! Headboard shape done!
Next, after ironing the fabric, I used double sided carpet tape I had left over from another project to attach the fabric to the headboard.
I saved the curves for last and used hot glue and pins to make sure the fabric was secured.
I’m still working on pillows, lamps and such, but I just couldn’t wait to share! We decided to add an “E” after I got it upholstered. Ideally, I would have had it monogrammed before, but “Little E” just painted a wood letter and we attached it on the front. What a great helper she was! Probably why I got this project finished so quickly!
Hope this inspires you!
